Most Tiger sheds are supplied with floor bearers, but this can vary depending on the specific product range and model.
This article explains what bearers are, whether they are included, and what you need to know before installation.
What are bearers?
Bearers are timber supports fixed underneath the shed floor. Their purpose is to:
Raise the building slightly off the ground
Support the floor structure
Help protect the floor from moisture
Allow air to circulate beneath the shed
Bearers are not a substitute for a proper base.
Are bearers included with Tiger sheds?
In most cases, Tiger sheds are supplied with floor bearers as standard.
However:
The number, size, and layout of bearers may vary by model
Some buildings may use alternative floor support systems
Larger or heavier buildings may require additional support from the base itself
For confirmation on a specific model, please refer to the product description or assembly instructions.
Important: bearers do not replace a suitable base
Even if your shed includes bearers, it must still be installed on a firm, flat, and level base.
Bearers alone do not:
Compensate for uneven ground
Prevent movement on soft surfaces
Make grass or soil a suitable base
Installing a shed directly onto grass, soil, gravel, or uneven paving can lead to:
Floor movement
Door and window misalignment
Moisture issues
Reduced lifespan of the building
How should bearers be positioned?
When installing your shed:
Bearers should sit fully supported along their length
They must rest on a solid, level surface
There should be no gaps or unsupported sections
The building should not rock or flex once positioned
Your assembly instructions will show the correct bearer layout for your building.
If you are unsure about your base or bearers
